Reviewing GoDaddy.com
The Final Review
GoDaddy.com
GoDaddy.com is a website hosting service. When I was younger, I honestly had no idea it was a website hosting service. I'd see the commercials and originally thought it was for some more adult themed store or what have you. However, it wasn't and still isn't. It's a web hosting service! GoDaddy.com is a simple website. It doesn't waste time with catchy graphics or images like the commercials used to. Instead, the website is plain yet visually pleasing. It offers its domains and has them labeled for easy navigation, as well as displaying prices so it's not a hard find when looking. All-in-all, a solid site from top to bottom.
Validation
According to W3C's Validator (here), GoDaddy.com's home page has 13 total errors and/or warnings. This is quite normal as most larger websites have a few errors and/or warnings present. Nothing major, just redundancy problems or incorrect values.
The Review
With this piece of the review, I will go over a bit more than just numeric values for the sites attributes. That being said -- Let's apply some numbers to the site! As stated earlier, the site's design isn't magnificent, but it gets the job done. I'll rate it a 7.5/10 There's no need for the site to be super eye catching. Obviously, if you're on a site selling web domains, there's a chance you're not focused on the web design itself over what the site has to sell. Speaking of, the site's usability is a solid 9/10. The options for purchasing domains is quite simple. It has it's nav bar labelled well and there's no confusing misdirection like is present on some other e-commerce sites. Now for the fun part; which domain would I use? I've had a good idea in mind for a service I could develop which all starts with a website. That service would be a sports league and/or team website that could be created by anyone and used for any kind of sports league. Obviously, this isn't a new idea, but the current sites out there are somewhat lacking. league-domain.com seems like it would be a great name for a website like that, and it's available to use. Along with the .com version, .org and .net are both also available and aren't bad options themsleves. They're trustworthy domains and are quite popular themselves. It has been a longwinded review, but that is all. From all of us here at Justin's Website, we thank you for choosing us for your website reviewer!
